Alfombra roja a la “mexicana”

Ofrecen “fiesta mexicana” a jugadoras

Zapopan, Jalisco, 15 de octubre 2022.- Una verdadera “fiesta mexicana” fue la que disfrutaron las jugadoras del GDL Open Akron 1000, en el Palacio Municipal de Zapopan.

Por unas horas guardaron sus prendas deportivas para enfundarse en hermosos vestidos que lucieron con gracia para desfilar por la alfombra y posar ante las cámaras de los fotógrafos. Así se pudo ver pasar a las checas Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Barbora Krejcikova y Katerina Siniakova, la mexicana Fernanda Contreras, las canadienses Bianca Andreescu y Leylah Fernández y la colombiana Camila Osorio. Otras vestidas de forma más casual, como Sloane Stephens y la francesa Alize Cornet, entre otras. Una vez que desfilaron tomaron sus lugares en las mesas, elegantemente decoradas con rosas blancas y velas.

El director del torneo, Gustavo Santoscoy, dio la bienvenida a las tenistas y celebró que Guadalajara pudiera realizar el primer torneo de categoría 1000 en Latinoamérica.

La cena consistió en taco al pastor y taco de papa como primer tiempo, hongos con mole y quelites y salmón a los tres quesos con puré de albahaca y de postre mousse vegano de cacahuate y mousse carajillo, una pequeña muestra de la gastronomía mexicana.

Durante la cena se presentó un ballet folclórico y artistas que mostraron cómo florear la reata, al ritmo de canciones mexicanas como el Jarabe Tapatío, acercando a los asistentes un poco de la cultura del estado y de México.

Zapopan, Jalisco Octoer 15th 2022.- The players of the Guadalajara Open Akron 1000 enjoyed of a real “Mexican Party” at the Palacio Municipal of Zapopan.

For a few hours, the players were able to leave their sweats behind and dress up in beautiful gowns to gracefully parade in the red carpet and pose for the cameras.

Czechs Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, the Mexican Fernanda Contreras, Canadians Bianca Andreescu and Leylah Fernandez, and Colombian Camila Osorio were among those who wore some of the most elegant gowns of the evening. American Sloane Stephens and Alize Cornet, from France, among others, were more casually dressed.

Once the parade came to an end, all the players set out to look for their tables, finely decorated with candles and white roses.

Gustavo Santoscoy, executive manager of the tournament, welcomed all the players and celebrated the fact that Guadalajara was able to host such an important tournament, the first 1000 event in Latin America.

The menu included tacos al pastor and potato tacos, followed by mushrooms with mole _ a traditional meal made of chocolate and peppers _, quelites (another traditional dish made of wild plants), salmon coated with a three-cheese sauce and mashed basil, a vegan peanut mousse and carajillo mouse, highlighting the highly specialized Mexican cuisine.

The evening included a folkloric ballet and a charreria exhibition, where artists displayed their roping skills, while a band played a set of traditional Mexican songs, like Jarabe Tapatio, delighting the crowd with some of the most iconic state and Mexican culture features.
