Camila Osorio buscará dar la cara por Latinoamérica en Guadalajara
Guadalajara, Jalisco, 16 de Octubre 2022.- Una de las tres jugadoras latinoamericanas presentes en el Guadalajara Open Akron 1000, es la colombiana Camila Osorio, quien vuelve a México donde ha tenido buenos resultados en sus anteriores visitas este año. Fue finalista en el WTA de Monterrey, además de los cuartos de final en el Abierto de Zapopan.
Para este certamen, Osorio de 20 años llega como número 73 de la clasificación mundial, y para ella será importante recibir nuevamente el apoyo de la gente con la que se ha identificado en canchas aztecas.
“Estoy muy feliz y emocionada de jugar este tipo de torneos, emocionada de estar de vuelta en México y espero hacer un gran papel. En México me siento bien jugando, como si estuviera en casa. Cada que juego acá, todos son muy amables, en muy agradable el ambiente, espero me puedan apoyar en este torneo”, apuntó la jugadora cucuteña que en primera ronda enfrentará a la rusa Ekaterina Alexandrova.
En el segundo semestre del año, los resultados no la han acompañado, debido principalmente a las lesiones. Sin embargo, poco a poco va retomando su ritmo. “Han sido muchos altos y bajos este año, acá en México me fue súper bien, pero llegaron las lesiones y tuve que parar; después regresar a Europa, y es difícil volver a recuperar la confianza, de jugar sin miedo a lesionarme nuevamente, espero terminar el año de la mejor manera”.
Osorio, que suma un título en su carrera, logrado el año pasado en el Bogotá Open, tiene gran amistad con las tenistas mexicanas, con quienes buscará dar la cara por Latinoamérica en un torneo plagado de jugadoras europeas y norteamericanas.
“Tengo muy buena relación con Fernanda, Renata, Marcela, con todas la llevo muy bien, de hecho jugaré dobles en este torneo con Fernanda Contreras, nos dieron un wild card para participar juntas, así que buscaremos hacer un buen papel”, finalizó la colombiana, quien llega al Guadajalara Open Akron 1000, luego de participar en el Abierto de San Diego la semana pasada.
Camila Osorio will try to step up for Latin America in Guadalajara
Guadalajara, Jalisco, October 16th 2022.- One of the top three Latin American players in the Guadalajara Open Akron 1000 is Colombian Camila Osorio, who is returning to Mexico where she had good results in previous visits this year. She was a finalist in the Monterrey WTA and reached the quarterfinals in the Zapopan Open.
For this tournament, the 20-year-old Osorio arrives as the 73erd player in the world rankings and for her it would be important to get the support from the crowds in the Aztec courts.
“I´m very happy and excited to play in this kind of tournaments, excited to be back in Mexico and hoping to have a great performance. In Mexico I feel well playing, it´s like been back home. In every match here, everyone is so kind, the environment is very nice, and I hope they can support me in the tournament”, said the Colombian, who will take on Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round.
In the second semester of the year, the results have not been as expected due to injuries. However, step by step, she is regaining her rhythm.
“It´s been up and down this year, in Mexico I did very well, but injuries came, and I had to stop; after returning to Europe and it´s hard to gain back the confidence, to play without fear of getting injured again, I hope to finish the year the best way possible”.
Osorio, who has one career title, when she won a year ago in the Bogota Open, is good friends with the Mexican tennis players who will try to step up for Latin America in a tournament with several European and American players.
“I have a Good relationship with Fernanda, Renata, Marcela, with all of them I got along well, in fact I will be playing doubles with Fernanda Contreras, they gave us a wild card to play alongside, so we are going to try to have a good tournament”, said the Colombian, who arrived to the Guadajalara Open Akron 1000 after playing in the San Diego Open a week ago.
