The tree of life, the symbol that the champion will raise

The tree of life represents our existence, from the time we are born with deep roots in the ground, until we reach the end of our life.

This symbol has been materialized in the form of a trophy and it is the one that will be raised tomorrow by the tennis player who is champion of the GDL Open Akron 1000.

It is an exclusive piece made one hundred percent in 925 silver by the artisans of the renowned company Plata Villa, founded in 1942 by Don Manuel Villa Amieva.

“It is not your typical sports cup. We wanted to capture something that represents us as human beings. Where do we come from and where are we going? In addition, Mexico is the largest producer of silver in the world, and we are proud to be part of it”, says Rafael Villa, current director of the firm.

The silversmiths of Plata Villa carried out meticulous work that took them three months to make, since it is a completely handmade piece. The result has been an original work of absolute beauty.

The Villa family declares itself a fan of white sports and is proud to be able to support healthy living through its work, promote sports culture and involve young people in a world-renowned tradition, such as goldsmithing.

“We have participated three times in sporting events such as Formula 1 and we have exhibited our creations in art galleries in different parts of the world. This allows us to make ourselves known and maintain a tradition that is always at the forefront for 80 years”, concludes Rafael.
